He currently sits on the board of his neighborhood’s 501(c)(3) non-profit community garden as well as leads the team of volunteers on the garden’s water committee. In 2024, thanks to his efforts, the community garden was the first in the City of Chicago to receive their hydrant use permit!
Engaging local runners, Ben in Chicago helps lead the local run crew’s weekly runs. Encouraging participation through social media and word-of-mouth, attendance by neighbors continue to grow each year.
Ben in Chicago dedicates any available free time to bitcoin. From securing the network via mining and running his own node, to managing Lightning channels and engaging with other plebs, he feels there is more to bitcoin than simply “internet money”.
